Early Childhood Development

This is a Day Care Centre located at Dumisane Makhaye Village, ward 23, under uMhlathuze Municipality. The centre was established in 2003 by local community member, Ms Sibongile Mngomezulu. The aim of the centre is to provide affordable high quality child care and prepare learners to excel as future leaders in a safe and secure environment.  

The day care centre offers inspiring activities that provides children with opportunities to develop their mindset holistically. Currently the day care centre caters for children ranging from ages: 0 to 4 years. At present the centre has an enrolment of 283 children. Their Grant received from Uthungulu Community Foundation assisted the centre with office furniture and equipment

Myaduya Day Care Centre was established in 2007 by a local community member. The Centre is located at Myanduya Reserve, Mseleni, Mbazwana. The area where the centre is located can be described extremely poor and rural. The objective of this Centre is to improve literacy among the children of parents with very poor level of literacy. This centre offers activities to disadvantaged children, to help them develop holistically and along with their peers. UCF donated building material in order to complete their two classrooms they had already started through community contributions.

This Day Care is located at Ngwelezane Township, under uMhlathuze Municipality. The objective of this Day Care is to assist working parents and to create a playing and learning environment for children left at the Centre. The Day Care Centre offers inspiring activities that provide children with opportunities to develop their mindset holistically and currently caters for children ranging from infant to 4 years.    

Uthungulu Community Foundation assisted the centre by donating a total of 50 jolly chairs with tables.
