Computer literacy and skills development programmes
One of the past year successes the Foundation achieved was to obtain a Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) accreditation for New Adventure Creation qualification.  The acquirement of this accreditation was done in line with the current strategic plan of the Foundation that seeks to re-skill and develop young people through technology and innovation, so as to remain relevant and competitive as part of the ever-changing global community challenges.

As a Foundation we research, identify and convene community dialogs that seeks to address community challenges through collaboration and partnership with relevant  and reputative stakeholders and institutions as we did in the past year where we partnered with Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) accredited Info Avenue Computer Training Centre, Tronox Mining Company where  we invited local young unemployed women within uMhlathuze and Moloi local Municipalities, for a free Computer ICDL (International Computer Driving License). This initiative funded and supported by Uthungulu Community Foundation aims to reduce computer illiteracy and empower unemployed youth in order to increase their opportunities of employability.
ABCD Training Workshop

The Foundation hosted an Asset Based Community Development Training Workshop at uMfolozi. The foundation invited 30 local NPO’s with the district to be part of it. The main purpose of this training workshop was to encourage community leaders to think strategically, plan accordingly and be able to identify opportunities that can empower their local communities. The workshop was facilitated by Berni Dolley and Carla Collins from an NPO called Ikhala Trust which is based in Cape. Upon completing the training attendees were issued with attendance certificates
